The Green Woman
It was my pleasure to do a mediumship reading for my dear friend Diana Gonsalves Hansen this past week, and to be able to connect to 3 of her spirit guides and also to the spirits of the 12 women who are in her house and on her land that work in partnership with her through her business Mountain Hollow Medicinals.
The second guide to come forward, I first saw a single butterfly. As I watched it flutter, it came to land on the Green Woman. A woman made entirely of plants, with a body like the trunk and branches of a tree, her long hair spilling down made of vines, leaves, and the most beautiful flowers. She facilitates connection with the plants and their wisdom. I pulled a Tarot card to learn more about why she is with Diana, and I pulled the 6 of Swords.
This card told me that She helps with transitions. The green world is always there in some form, and that provides a constant for Diana. When help or relief arrives just in time, she has helped bring that to her. She helps with healing; the plants help heal past traumas, and she has supported Diana always along her spiritual journey. She reminded Diana that she must ask for and accept help from others. The plants can help with resistance to change.
One of the reasons Diana wanted a mediumship reading was to receive messages and guidance from the 12 women in spirit who I had sketched for her almost 3 years ago, and since I only perceived names for a couple of the women, I labelled them as numbers on a clock face since I had drawn them in a circle surrounding Diana.
So much information and guidance came through these women for Diana, that I couldn’t possibly include it all in this post, but I will summarize the most important points.
12:00: Ann(e)? She is a midwife. She was drawn to Diana while pregnant with her youngest child and was present for the birth. Her message: Now we can birth new ideas! Give a rebirth to women who come here. Don't worry about parts of the business that are ending. Remain open to love and joy as you process this ending.
1:00: Mabel. She showed me a sharing/sewing circle. Possibly an embroidery class? With tea and cookies, of course. Something for women to connect with each other and talk while their hands work. Maybe something that reoccurs with different crafts but the same format. Low-key and informal but important connections will be formed, and would help women feel heard. It could be a time for women to receive information through the clairsenses as well.
2:00: This woman is connected to the fields and gardens. I got the sense she is connected to a tradition Diana has been connected to or had a teacher from in this life. She encouraged her to let go of societal expectations concerning her business. Seek the wisdom within. Unique offerings will spring up from your soul. She showed me a walking meditation through the woods by the sacred rock - topped with many candles, women were stopping and placing their hands on it before moving on - then up, around, through fields, ending in the gardens where participants use their intuition to choose a plant to sit with, communicate and meditate with and hopefully receive a message from.
3:00: Sidhe (Gaelic word for fairy and also burial mounds where they were said to dwell) She was brought to North America with traveling Celtic/Brythonic peoples. They made offerings to her kind here. She was gathered to Diana’s place and offers her protection. She showed me people stacking stones artfully on the land, and rock cairns for beloved animals who were buried there.
4:00: This woman is of mixed Scottish and Indigenous North American descent. 1800's? She is there to 'help the women', those with more than one culture, those who feel disconnected from their roots. I pulled a card for a message from her, and pulled the Two of Cups. This place is moving toward one of partnerships with women; sisterhood, bonding, creating new relationships and healing old ones. We are all containers to hold, mix, alchemize, transmute each other's emotions, spirituality, intuition, connection to divinity.
5:00: Another immigrant, not sure from where, 1930's-40's. Helen(a)? Her message is from the Two of Wands. There is a choice to make - do I stay or do I go? Do you begin to take action on what's already cozily rooted in place? Or do you go outside your comfort zone in some way? Learn the thing or call that contact. For Diana right now, at least baby steps of physical actions will feel better than staying firmly in the planning/dreaming/vision board stage.
6:00: Turn of the 20th century. I think she's actually connected to a general store or some kind of business. A business woman who was loud, outspoken, shrewd and respected. Her message comes from the 9 of Wands: Push beyond your own perceived physical limitations. Don't give up! Remain trusting in yourself. You CAN navigate this with ease, abundance, success. So many need your beacon of light to find their way to healing.
7:00: "Granny" was the first thing I heard, she may be connected to Diana's husband’s line. "I'm here to take care of you, of course!" Boundary work. Her message came from the Ace of Swords:
Women come to Mountain Hollow to achieve heightened states of consciousness. It is important to teach people how to speak their truth. Diana has changed so many women’s lives. Women who want to start a soul or heart-centered business but think their offerings aren't valuable enough.
8:00: This woman is related to Mabel, she is around inside the house, and she showed me being comfortable with aging gracefully and embracing the wisdom that comes with that. Her message comes from The World:
All will come full circle. You've come so far. You are absolutely on the right path. Clear away any doubt. Welcome all aspects of this shift. Remain focused on your goals.
9:00: A traveler living on the road, in a wagon. Could there be campsites eventually at Mountain Hollow? "I'm at home wherever I go" Her message comes from The Fool:
Leaps of faith are good! An unknown future is ok. Trust in the field of potentiality. It will all take shape as it's supposed to.
10:00: Star Woman. I tried to channel her, and so the notes are choppy, in words and phrases as I was trying not to lose anything in the experience of it. I was her as she spoke words of power - they weren't in a human language. We were sending out energy with the words and with our hands, over the land to bless it, clear it. We keep the container. Waiting. Watching. I see 3 stars in a row. Orion's Belt. There is a connection with them and also with a further away planet. She is older than the Earth. She is saying; "Get them to LET GO. We are making it a safe space. What we were building is something to transmute pain/suffering/trauma so that when it's released it doesn't stay…”
Her Tarot message comes from The Devil:
American culture has no ceremonies. We are alone and we aren't taught how to release things safely. People who will work with Diana may be in chains of fear - she needs to work with each person to see what their self-imposed chains are made of. The Devil is a nudge to delve into shadow work. Are there addictions of any kind, including materialism or codependency? Diana can help people illuminate the things that are vying for their time, energy and love that are leaving them feeling empty.
11:00: An herbalist from the late 1600's-early 1700's. She is in the garden too, just inspiring recipes and enjoying company of other cunning women. Her message comes from the Tarot card Strength:
Graceful leadership, with patience because people will resist the uncomfortable feelings that come with healing. We have to go into the pain to heal it. Tough love with firm advice, with love and compassion. Diana must draw on this Strength because to some degree she experiences the pain and trauma alongside her clients.
